Wheat Flour Veg Dumplings



    Wheat Flour Veg Dumplings:
          A healthy , tasty and delicious snack.

Ingredients :

For  dumpling outer cover:
·        Wheat flour – 1 cup (dry roast)
·        Rice flour – ½ cup-3/4 cup
·        Salt as needed
·        Hot water
·        Gingelly oil – 2 spn

For the veg filling:
·        Oil – 2 spn
·        Onion – 1 finely chopped
·        Beans – ¼ cup finely chopped
·        Grated coconut – ¼ cup
·        Grated potato – ¼ cup
·        Cabbage – ¼ cup finely chopped
·        Turmeric powder – a pinch
·        Chilli powder – 1 spn
·        Garam masala – ¼ spn
·        Oil to grease hands

Preparation :
·        Dry roast the wheat flour until aroma comes. Allow it to cool.
·        Mix wheat flour, rice flour, salt , oil   in a bowl ,by adding hot water to make a smooth pliable dough.(just like poori dough) keep it aside covered.
·        To make veg filling : heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion and sauté till turns pink.Next add the veggies one by one and sauté well in  a low flame for few mins. Then add turmeric powder, spicy powders and salt. Mix well  and  fry for  2 mins and switch off the flame.

Method :
·        Divide the dough into equal balls.
·        Grease your hands with oil, place a ball of dough on your palm and flatten it into a small circle and keep 1 big spn of veg filling in the middle and seal the flour with your fingertips and make a round balls.
·        Repeat the same for the rest of the dough and the veg filling.
·        Steam it in a idly cooker or steamer , spaced properly for 5 to  7 mins ..done!
                               


Serve hot .. J

Sweet Wheat dosa



    Sweet Wheat Dosa :


                    Wheat dosa is very tasty and sweety .you can serve this as an after school snack for kids.They  love this very much. J

Ingredients :
·        Wheat flour – ¼ cup
·        Rice flour – ¼ cup
·        Jaggery – ½ cup
·        Grated coconut – 3 tb spn
·        Cardamom powder – ¼ spn
·        Salt  a pinch for taste
·        Cashew and raisins – few chopped(optional)

Method :
·        Dissolve jaggery in  ½ cup of water ,melt it and filter to remove the impurities.
·        In an bowl,mix together all the above ingredients with water without any lumps.
·        Add more water to get a dosa batter consistency.
·        The batter should not be thick nor watery.
·        Sweet dosa batter is now ready.
·        Heat the casted iron pan or non stick pan. Spread the batter like thick dosa on the pan.
·        Pour a table spoon of oil/ghee at corner.
·        Allow to cook on low flame for 2 -3 minutes. When the bottom of the dosa turns lightly brown flip over and cook for another  2-3 mins…Done!
                               
                              



Sweety  tasty dosa is ready... J J Serve hot and enjoy the taste..
