Mutton / Goat Curry



  

Mutton / Goat curry :

Ingredients :
·        Mutton / Goat  – 250 gms (washed and cut into pieces)
·        Onion – 2 big chopped
·        Tomato – 1 finely chopped
·        Potato – 2 small (cut into medium sized pieces)optional
·        Ginger – 3 inch (remove the skin and cut into small pieces)
·        Turmeric powder – ¼ spn
·        Chilli powder – 2 spn
·        Coriander powder  –4  spn
·        Salt as needed
·        Coriander leaves for garnish
·        Split channa dal + tur dal = 5 spns

To  grind :

·        Grated coconut – 1 ½ cup
·        Fennal seeds – ½ spn
·        Kasa kasa – 1 spn
·        Small onion – 8
·        Garlic - 4

For seasoning :
·        Oil – 4 spn
·        Cinnamon – 2 bits
·        Garlic sliced – 10
·        Small onions – 2 cups cut into halves

Preparation :
·        Wash and cut goat  into small  pieces. Then take the pieces in a heavy bottomed vessel. Add water , turmeric powder and the ginger .
·        Cover the vessel and cook till the mutton pieces are half cooked..
·        Checking regularly and add water if required.
·        In a mixie , add grated coconut ,fennel seeds and kasa kasa and grind it finely. Then add garlic and onion and grind them coarsely.

Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan, add the seasoning one by one.
·        Then add the chopped onions and sauté till turn brown.
·        Then add tomato and sauté till turn mushy..
·        Then add the grounded coconut paste , spicy powders and allow it to boil.
·        Then add the tur dal and channa dal directly to the curry.
·        Next add potato pieces and half cooked mutton pieces  along with enough salt and water.
·        Cover it and cook for 20 to 25  mins. Done!
·        Garnish with coriander leaves.
                 

Yummy mutton curry  is ready.. serve with steamed rice   ..
