Cabbage Chutney For Idly , Dosa and Oothapam




   Cabbage Chutney For Idly ,Dosa and oothapam:
                                                           
Ingredients :

·        Cabbage -  1 ½ cup finely chopped
·        Onion – 1 big chopped
·        Green chilli - 4
·        Salt as needed
·        Tamarind paste –little 0r use tomato – ½ piece
·        Grated coconut – 4 spn
·        Ginger – 1 inch
·        Asafetida – a pinch
·        Urad dal – ½ spn
·        Channa dal – ½ spn
·        Curry leaves - few

To temper :
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Mustard seeds – 1 spn
·        Urad dal – ½ spn
·        Curry leaves few


Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida  and  urad dal ,channa dal saute till urad dal turn brown.
·        Then  add chopped onion and  ginger , sauté  till they turn light golden brown..
·        Then add chopped cabbage and saute well for 5 mins.
·        Then add grated coconut ,saute and mix everything well.
·        Switch off the flame and let it allow to cool.
·        In a mixie, grind the green chillies, salt, tamarind first and grind it to  finely.
·        Then add onion- cabbage  mixture and grind it to a coarse with enough salt . Transfer it to serving dish.(add water if u need)
·        Heat oil in a pan ,and add the tempering items.
·        Pour it over the chutney .Done !

Cabbage Chutney  is ready.. serve with idly or dosa or oothapam J
