Simple and yummy Onion Chalna For Chapathy :
Ingredients :

Onion – 2 big chopped
·
Tomato – 1 chopped
·
Ginger garlic paste – 2 spn
·
Green chilli – 4
·
Garam masala – 1 spn
·
Chilli powder – 2 spn
·
Coriander powder – 4 spn
·
Turmeric powder – ¼ spn
·
Salt as needed
·
Coriander leaves and mint leaves – 4
spns chopped
To make a paste:
·
Grated coconut – ¼ cup
·
Sombu – ½ spn
·
Cashews – 20 nos
For seasoning:
·
Oil – 1 spn
·
Cinnamon – 1 bit
Preparation :
·
Wash and cut the onion and tomato.
·
Soak the cashews in hot water for 15
mins.
·
Grind grated coconut with other
ingredients in a blender with little water and make a fine paste.
Method :
·
Heat oil in a pan, add the cinnamon
.
·
Then add chopped onions , ginger garlic paste and green chilli
and sauté for few mins.
·
Then add the chopped tomatoes and
sauté well till they turn mushy.
·
Next add the coriander and mint
leaves. Add salt .
·
Cover and cook
for 5 mins
·
Then add spicy powders, turmeric
powder along with enough water.
·
Cover and cook it for 10 mins or
till raw smell goes off.
·
Atlast add the coconut cashew paste
and cook it for 10 mins. Done !
·
Garnish with coriander leaves. Done!
Onion chalna is ready .serve hot with chapathy J
