Kadala Curry for Puttu and Chapathy



   Kadalai Curry For  Puttu and  Chapathy  :
         
Ingredients :
·        Channa dal( small or big) – 1 cup
·        Sambar onions – 12 (finely chopped)
·        Tamarind paste – 1 spn
·        Green chilli – 3
·        Turmeric powder – a pinch
·        Salt as needed
·        Coriander leaves for garnish

To  make a paste:(dry roast and make a paste)
·        Red chilli – 8
·        Coriander seeds – 1 spn
·        Cumin seeds – ¼ spn
·        Grated coconut – ½ cup
·        Ginger – 1 inch chopped
·        Onion – ½ piece


For seasoning:
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Mustard seeds – ½ spn
·        Curry leaves - few

Preparation :
·        Soak the channa dal for 12 hrs and Pressure Cook it with little salt and turmeric powder.
·        Dry roast the ingredients and grind grated in a blender with little water and make a fine paste.


Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and allow it to crackle . then  curry leaves and sauté till it turn crispy.
·        Then add chopped  onions and green chilli and sauté for few mins.

·        Next add the cooked  channa dal  ,salt ,tamarind paste and coconut paste,mix it well and add enough  water.
·        Cover and cook it for 15 to 20 mins. switch off the flame.
·        Garnish with coriander leaves. Done!
                                   


Kadalai curry   is ready .serve hot with chapathy J
