Brinjal Chutney For Idly/Dosa



     Brinjal Chutney  For Idly/Dosa:


Ingredients :
·        Brinjal – 2
·        Onion – 1 big chopped
·        Tomato – ½ chopped
·        Red chilli – 5 to 7
·        Salt as needed
·        Asafoetida – pinch
·        Urad dal – 1 spn
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Curry leaves.

To temper :
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Mustard seeds – 1 spn
·        Urad dal – ½ spn
·        Chilli – 1 chopped

Preparation :
·        Wash and cut the brinjals into small pieces and chopped onion and tomato.

Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan,add asafoetida and urad dal fry it turns golden brown.
·        Then add chopped onion and sauté it turns pink.
·        Next add the chopped tomato and sauté it till they are mushy.
·        Then add pieces of brinjals and sauté to turn soft..
·        Switch off the flame and let it allow to cool.
·        In a mixie,grind the chillies first and add the brinjal mixture and grind into smooth paste with enough salt and water. Transfer it to serving dish.
·        Heat oil in a pan ,and add the tempering items.
·        Pour it over the chutney.Done !
                               
                     

Brinjal chutney is ready. J serve with hot Dosa or Idly.
