Moong Dal Payasam With Jaggery and coconut Milk



     Moong dal  Payasam  With jaggery and coconut milk :


          It’s a very yummy and  delicious payasam.. try and enjoy the taste. J

Ingredients :
·        Moong dal / payitham paruppu – ½  cup
·        Coconut milk (thick)- ½ cup
·        Jaggery / brown sugar – ¼ cup(or adjust it for your taste)
·        Water – 2 cup
·        Salt a pinch
·        Cashews – 5 quatered
·        Cardamom powder - pinch
·        Raisins – 6
·        Ghee – 2 spn

Preparation:
·        Dry roast the moong dal in a pan for 3 -4 mins and pressure cook it with little salt  and 2 cups of water for 2 whistles.
·        Mash well with ladle and keep it aside.
·        Melt the jaggery with little water and filter it to remove the impurities.
·        In a vessel , mix well the mashed dal, jaggery syrup and coconut milk.

Method :
·        Heat ghee in a pan, roast the cashews till they turn golden brown and raisins till it puff up and keep it aside.
·        Then add the mixture  (mashed dal + jaggery syrup + coconut milk)kept in the vessel.
·        Allow it to boil  and cover and cook it for 5 to 8 mins. Add the cardamom powder. Done !
·        Decorate with roasted cashews and raisins. Done
                                                                          

Moong dal  kheer  is ready.. J serve hot  to your dears and nears  J
