Thiruvathirai Kali :
Ingredients
:

Raw rice – 1 cup
·
Jaggery – 1 ½ cup
·
Water – 2 ½ cup(including jaggery syrup)
·
Grated coconut – ¾ cup (fresh)
·
Ghee – 2 spn
·
Cashew – 5 quatered
·
Raisins – 7
·
Cardamom powder – a pinch
Preparation
:
·
Dry roast the raw rice in a pan till it
turns golden brown colour. Dry grind the rice coarsely (like rava)

Dissolve the jaggery in ¼ cup of water,
melt it and filter it to remove impurities.
·
Heat ghee in a pan, roast the cashews till
they golden brown and raisins till they puff up.
Method
:
·
Heat little ghee in a pan, add jaggery
syrup plus water ( totally 2 ½ cup) and bring it to boil.
·
Add grated coconut, cardamom powder and
let it cook for few mins.
·
Then add the grinded rice ,and stir well
continuously till you get the thick consistency.
·
Atlast add the roasted cashews and raisins
, mix well. Done !
Thiruvathirai Kali is ready.. serve hot or cold J
