Ivy Gourd Gravy For Chapathy


   
    Ivy Ground gravy for chapathy:
                        

Ingredients :
·        Ivy gourd /kovakkai – 250 gms
·        Onion – 1 chop lengthwise
·        Tomato – 1 chopped
·        Green chilli – 2 chopped
·        Ginger – 1 tsp chopped
·        Turmeric powder – ¼ spn
·        Chilli powder – 1 spn
·        Coriander powder – 2 spn
·        Garam masala powder – ½ spn
·        Salt as needed

To temper :
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Mustard seeds – ½ spn
·        Cumin seeds – ½ spn

Preparation :
·        Wash and cut kovakkai lengthwise.Here I have added ivy gourd directly into gravy . It will crunchy and hot for taste buds.
·        You may also Pressure cook it with little water and salt for 1 whistle to get softness.

Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan add tempering items.
·        When they sizzle,add chopped onions and fry till they turn pink.
·        Then add tomatoes and sauté until it turns mushy.
·        Next add kovakkai ,spicy powder along with salt needed.
·        Sprinkle little water stir it between to avoid getting burnt.
·        Cover with lid and cook. Allow everything get blended well..Done!

                                   

Spicy gravy is ready.Serve hot with chapathy.. JJ
