Sweet Paal Kolukkattai


 
      Sweet Paal Kolukkattai:


Ingredients :
·        Par boiled rice/idly rice/ puzhungal rice –1 cup
·        Jaggery – 1 ½ cups
·        Water- 3 cups
·        Grated coconut – 5 spn
·        Cardamom  - 1 powdered
·        Salt  a little

Preparation :
·        Soak rice in water for 3 hours and grind along with salt into a coarse batter enough to go through murukku press.
·        Melt jaggery with 3 cups  of water .Filter it  to remove impurities

Method ;
·        Boil jaggery water in a heavy bottomed pan or vessel along with grated coconut,a pinch of salt and cardamom powder.
·        Once the jaggery  water is rolling boiling, squeeze the batter through the murukku press.Just do two circles (rounds).Wait for few seconds the squeezes dough will get cooked and raise up.
·        Break it roughly with ladle into pieces. Repeat the process until you finish the batter.
·        Let it cooked properly. By this time the whole thing will get bit thick.
·        Stir properly otherwise there are chances of getting burnt at the bottom.
·        So keep stirring in medium flame .Let it become thick. Done !
                               
                              

                         

Sweet paal kolukkatai is ready J JServe hot or chilled.
Do not cover completely with lid just close it half to let the steam escape.
you can refrigerated and serve for 2 days.
