Onion Chutney For Idly , Dosa and oothapam



   
  Onion Chutney  For Idly ,Dosa and oothapam:

Ingredients :

·        Onion – 2 big chopped
·        Red chilli – 10
·        Salt as needed
·        Roasted gram / pottu kadalai – 1 spn
·        Grated coconut – 1 spn
·        Asafetida – a pinch

To temper :
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Mustard seeds – 1 spn
·        Urad dal – ½ spn


Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida  and add chopped onion and sauté it turns pink.
·        Switch off the flame and let it allow to cool.
·        In a mixie, grind the chillies, grated coconut, roasted gram first and grind it to a fine powder .
·        Then add onion mixture and grind it to a coarse with enough salt . Transfer it to serving dish.(add water if u need)
·        Heat oil in a pan ,and add the tempering items.
·        Pour it over the chutney .Done !
                    


Onion chutney is ready.. serve with idly or dosa or oothapam J
