Potato Dal Gravy For Chapathy


    Potato Dal Gravy For Chapathy  :
         
Ingredients :
·        Moong dal / Pasi paruppu – ½ cup
·        Ginger – ½ inch chopped
·        Turmeric powder – ¼ spn
·        Potato – 1 big (boil, peel and mash)
·        Onion – 2 medium finely chopped
·        Ripe tomatoes – 2 medium chopped
·        Green chilli – 4
·        Sambar powder – 1 spn
·        Lemon juice – 4 spn
·        Salt as needed
·        Coriander leaves for garnish

To  make a paste:
·        Grated coconut – 3 spn
·        Kasa kasa – ½ spn
·        Sombu – ½ spn
·        Garam masala – ½ spn

For seasoning:
·        Oil – 1 spn
·        Curry leaves - few

Preparation :
·        Pressure Cook the moong dal with turmeric powder and chopped ginger till becomes soft.
·        Boil, peel and mash the potato.
·        Grind grated coconut with other ingredients in a blender with little water and make a fine paste.


Method :
·        Heat oil in a pan, add the cuury leaves and sauté till it turn crispy.
·        Then add chopped and green chilli and sauté for few mins.
·        Then add the chopped tomatoes and sauté well till they turn mushy.
·        Next add the cooked  moong dal ,salt ,mashed potatoes, sambar powder and coconut paste,mix it well. If required add water.
·         Cover and cook it for 15to 20 mins. switch off the flame.
·        Atlast squeeze lemon juice and Garnish with coriander leaves. Done!
                       


Potato dal Gravy  is ready .serve hot with chapathy J
