Onion Kosu



      Onion Kosu :
          Sidedish for Idly .

Ingredients:
·        Big onion – 3
·        Tomato – 1
·        Potato – 1
·        Salt as needed
·        Coriander leaves
·        Curry leaves

To grind:(for masala paste)
·        Red chilli – 10 to 15
·        Grated coconut – ½ cup
·        Sombu – ¼ spn
·        Cumin seeds –1 spn
·        Pottu kadalai – 2 spn
·        Kasa kasa – 1 spn

For seasoning :
·        Oil – 2 spn
·        Cinnamon – 2 bits

Preparation :
·        Wash and cut all the veggies into small pieces
·        In a mixie,Grind the masala paste ingredients into a fine paste along with little water and keep it aside.
Method :
·        Heat oil  in a pan add the seasoning items.
·        Then add onions and stir for few mins.
·        Next add potatoes and finally add tomatoes.Allow them all to cook in a oil itself for 3 mins.
·        Then add the grinded coconut mixture and mix well.
·        Add 3 cups of water and salt required.
·        Cover and cook till the gravy becomes thick and all the veggies becomes soft.
                                

Finally garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves.
