Rajma / kidney beans kurma For Chapathy:
Kidney beans are
very healthy. This is a delicious kurma goes well with chapathy and roti. It is
a time saving receipe, the whole receipe has been made in a pressure cooker.
Ingredients :

Kidney
beans – 1 cup
·
Onion
– 2 chopped
·
Tomato
– 1 chopped
·
Carrot
– 1 (optional)
·
Potato
– 1 (optional)
·
Green
chilli –3 cut into two
·
Sambar
powder – 1 spn
·
Garam
masala powder – ½ spoon
·
Turmeric
powder – ½ spoon
·
Salt
as needed
To grind :
·
Coconut
– ½ cup
·
Khus
khus – ½ spoon
·
Sombu
– ½ spoon
·
Green
chilli - 3
·
Cashew
– 2 or 3
·
Garlic
– 3
·
Ginger
– 1 inch
·
Chutney
kadalai – 1 spoon
To temper :
·
Cinnamon
- 2 small pieces
·
Bay
leaf -1
·
Curry
leaves - few
Preparation :
Soak
beans in water for 15 hours .
Method :
o
Chop
the onion and tomato into normal sized pieces.
o
Grind
the ingredients under the subtitle “ to grind ” to a smooth paste.
o
Heat
a pressure cooker with oil or ghee with oil and add the tempering items.
o
Then
add onion , green chilli and fry for a minute in low flame.
o
Add
the tomato and fry till it becomes mushy.
o
Add
grind paste followed by sambar powder,
garam masala powder and turmeric powder.
o
Fry
in a low flame till raw smell goes off. Add the kidney beans and enough water.check the salt.
o
Pressure
cook for 3 whistles.
o
Open
after the steam releases completely and add chopped coriander leaves. Done!
Serve
hot with chapathy.. J
